Kokoska, Marie K. (nee Tkachuk) of Oakland entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 7, 2010. Born in Bayonne, she was formerly employed by American Export and Colgate Palmolive before years as a homemaker. An avid swimmer, she was a member of the NA Cettes, a synchronized swimming group at the Newark Athletic Club, and the Aquacons of Ridgewood. As an active member of her community and parish, Marie will be remembered for her devotion to her family and her love for God. Beloved wife and travel companion of 55 years to Thomas Kokoska. Devoted mother of Thomas and his wife Joan of Ridgewood; Robert of Cary, NC; Mary Ellen and her husband Kevin Lavin of Westwood; and John of Mill Valley, CA. Dear sister of Olga Nikifor of Cold Spring Harbor, NY. Loving grandmother to Katherine and T.J. Kokoska; Samuel and Dylan Evans; and Jordan Kokoska. Funeral to depart Friday, February 12, at 9:30am from Oakland Memorial Home, 330 Ramapo Valley Road, for a 10am Funeral Liturgy at Most Blessed Sacrament Church 787 Franklin Lakes Road, Franklin Lakes NJ. Interment, Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ. The family will receive friends on Thursday, 2-4, and 7-9pm.
